International  Family Law:  Divorce, Child Custody, Visitation and Support:  In today's jet age, there are many families that live in more than one house and more than one country during the year.   This can require an international approach to issues like child custody, visitation and support to ensure the children continue to see both parents as agreed.  Also many divorcing couples have assets in jurisdictions outside California and even outside the USA.  Inter-jurisdictional divorces usually with high assets bring a level of complication that requires a more sophisticated approach than for domestic divorces.  The experience that Wayne McIntosh can bring to such cases can be invaluable given his international experience and his legal and accounting training which is unmatched by most domestically trained family lawyers.

Hague Convention Proceedings:

The 1980 Hague Abduction Convention is designed to ensure the prompt return of children who have been abducted from their country of habitual residence or wrongfully retained from that residence.  Hague cases are complex and apply a totally different standard than that normally used in domestic Family Court proceedings.  Countries and sometimes each province or area within a country can and do interpret the Hague Convention differently from each other as the key words "habitual country of residence" is not defined in the Convention due to a failure of the signing countries to agree on it.  So it is important to engage an experienced family lawyer like Mr McIntosh with actual international experience who has acted in Hague cases both in California and also overseas, to get the right advice for your case.
